AN ELDERLY woman was severely injured after falling down a riverbank in Ewyas Harold tonight (Friday).
Ewyas Harold firefighters said they were called out to the river next to the post office in the village.
“On arrival, we located an elderly lady who had fallen down the banking into the river,” said Ewyas Harold fire station in a Facebook post.

“She was being supported by two people who had stopped to help.
“Supported by our water rescue colleagues from Hereford and Ross-on-Wye we extracted her using the rescue sleigh and handed her over to the ambulance service.
“The lady had suffered a very severe injury to her leg and potential spinal injuries.
“Special thanks to the two members of the public who were with her throughout the time helping support her.”
