A HEREFORD venue has decided to scale back their New Year's Eve event amid rising uncertainty around Covid-19.
The Left Bank's New Year's Eve party was to include live music in their many rooms and outside area and fireworks to finish the year off with a bang for £45 a ticket.
Prime minister Boris Johnson only announced on Monday that restrictions were not to be put in place and New Year's Eve events could take place.
But the Left Bank has now made the decision to cancel the event and instead replace it with a more relaxed covid safe atmosphere.
General manager Rob Mitchell said: "We just do not feel it is right to have 1500-2000 people mixing together with the current Covid situation still unfolding and potentially getting worse."
The venue will open their bandstand and their Gold Room for live music and have Beefy Boys ready to feed their guests with entry now £10 but free for those who book a table in advance.
Fireworks will no longer be going ahead.
As a result we are allowing people to pre book a socially distanced table inside or outside, said Mr Mitchell.
"We are limiting numbers to 400-450 so everyone feels safe."
They will close at 1am instead of 3am to further reduce people in close proximity out on the streets after partying for NYE, he said.
