THE man hoping to be Hereford's next MP has welcomed the council's decision to backtrack on its schools closure plan.
Jesse Norman, the Conservative parliamentary candidate for the city and south Herefordshire, said: "This is a victory for common sense, hard campaigning and the efforts of the many parents, teachers and governors up and down the county.
"Now the real work of consulting as to what must be done lies ahead."
