A ROAD in rural Herefordshire will close for almost two months as work to install fibre broadband gets underway.
Herefordshire Council warned the road between Lyonshall and Bad Patch Wood, near Kington, would be shut for 54 days from February 11.
As well as the C1080, the C1079 from Questmoor Farm to Meadows Farm would be shut for 14 days from January 27, and the Spearmarsh Common Road for five days from March 28.
The work is in part two of the Almeley fibre project, which will see faster internet available to residents in the parish when work is finished.
Diversions routes would be signposted locally, Herefordshire Council said.
The said closures were required due to rural fibre installation works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place, a public notice said.
