DRAMATIC pictures show a car fire on a Herefordshire border road which will see it closed for several hours, police say.
West Mercia Police said the fire, which completely destroyed the car, would mean the B4218 Wyche Road, between Colwall and Malvern, would "likely be closed for several hours".
Herefordshire Council contractor Balfour Beatty Living Places said the driver escaped uninjured, but it was waiting for Worcestershire County Council colleagues to arrive to deal with a fuel pill and to recover the vehicle.
A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said a crew from Malvern Fire Station was called at 12.08pm to a small vehicle on fire in Wyche Road, Malvern.
On arrival, the car was discovered to be well alight and was extinguished using a hose reel by two firefighters in breathing apparatus.
There were no casualties and the incident was left with police and highways at 1.29pm, the spokesperson said.
