A HEREFORD theatre company is in the running for a national award after their recent project showcased female talent.
Open Sky Theatre filmed and released their digital theatre project MicroPlays during lockdown in 2020.
The five MicroPlays were shot in Herefordshire at Bastion Mews, Work Here in High Town and in the grounds of Steiner Academy Hereford.
MicroPlays offered employment opportunities for both local and national artists at a time when most theatres were closed.
The project showcased five short plays by female writers and was watched by over 600,000 people online including many people who do not generally go to the theatre.
Artistic director Claire Coaché said: "We're delighted that the project has been nominated for a national Digital Culture Award."
The award is a public vote and will generate national recognition for the arts in Hereford.

Voting closes at 12pm on January 14.
