A DRIVER has escaped a roads ban after she was caught using her mobile phone while driving.
Sallyann Joan Amos entered a guilty plea to magistrates in Hereford.
The court heard the 64-year-old had been caught using a handheld mobile phone while behind the wheel of a Fiat Panda in Hereford's Blueschool Street on April 28.
Amos, of Monkland, Leominster, was fined £40, received six penalty points, and must pay costs of £60 and a £34 victim surcharge.
No totting disqualification was made as a disabled family member relies on Amos for physical support, another relies on her for lifts to work, and because she has no-one who can assist her with her shopping.
