A STALKER has been branded a predator and a danger to women by his Herefordshire ex-girlfriend.
Clive Dennis Poynter admitted stalking a woman between May 20 and 24 when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford.
Prosecutor Shafquat Reaz said it was a domestic abuse matter that had come about after the victim had ended their relationship.
The court heard the pair had known each other for around nine years, before entering into a more intimate relationship in the weeks before the offence.
But the relationship quickly soured after the victim had an accident, hurting her ankle.
Poynter moved in with her and, the court heard, while she was grateful at first, she started to feel suffocated and the pair began arguing.
The victim ended the relationship, and was bombarded with text and voicemail messages by Poynter, despite telling him she wanted no contact.
"He was calling her names, swearing at her, and threatening her," Mr Reaz said.
"Due to the nature of these messages, she had no option but to call police. He left more than 45 messages."

In a victim statement, Poynter's ex-girlfriend said she had been left constantly checking her windows, scared to go out along in case she bumps into him, and worried as to what he might have done to her when she was sleeping.
"I think he is a predator and a danger to women and that he targeted me after my grandfather died," the victim said.
Speaking on his own behalf, Poynter said the victim he had loved the victim 'to bits', but that there was nothing that can be done about that.
Poynter, of Peacocks Field Walk, Hereford, was handing a 24-month community order and must complete the Building Better Relationships programme, and an indefinite restraining order banning him from contacting the victim. He must pay compensation of £300, costs of £135, and a £95 victim surcharge.
