THE family of a mother-of-two killed in a car crash in Herefordshire have paid tribute to her.

Susan Penelope Legge, aged 44, died on the A44 near Bromyard on August 28, when the car she was driving crossed the central white line and hit a car travelling in the opposite direction, and then a lorry.

An inquest into her death held at Hereford Town Hall on Friday said Mrs Legge, of Hatfield, near Leominster, was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries suffered in the crash.

A statement from her family said: "Sue was a much-loved member of our family.

"She was a devoted wife and mother and a fun friend who was always there with an ear or a shoulder.

"She was also a proud patron of the Little Princess Trust and would help anyone whenever she could.

"We miss her every day and will continue to miss her. Our lives have changed forever."

The inquest heard that Mrs Legge had driven her Audi Q5 from her home to Bromyard for shopping.

She made the return journey shortly after 12.18pm when the crash happened.

Collision investigator Nicholas Stafford said that entering a right-hand corner Mrs Legge had over-steered her Audi crossing over the white line and colliding with a Skoda Octavia.

The Audi corrected itself before hitting the oncoming Volvo Traffic articulated lorry.

Mr Stafford said that weather conditions were fine, there was no sun glare or use of any mobile phone.

"It's not possible to work out the speed of the Audi," said Mr Sheffield.

"It might not have been travelling in excess of the speed limit."

A dash camera which was fitted to the Audi was broken in the crash.

Assistant coroner for Herefordshire Roland Wooderson concluded that Mrs Legge died as a result of a road traffic collision.
