A MAN has died after crashing into a hedge on a main road in Herefordshire, police have said.
Officers said they are appealing for information and any witnesses after a car left the road and crashed into a hedgerow A480 between Kington and Sarnesfield at around 8pm on February 3, police said.
The driver was able to free his blue Volkswagen Passat from the hedge and return home with no obvious injury to himself.
Nobody was hurt in the crash, but the driver, a man in his 70s from Weobley, Herefordshire reported that another vehicle’s actions had forced him to leave the road.
The driver reported feeling unwell and some difficulty breathing the next day, and was found collapsed at home and died a short time later on February 5.
While there is no confirmed link at this time between the collision and the man's death, a post mortem will be carried out in order to establish the cause of death.
A police spokesperson said: "Our thoughts remain with the man’s family and we would ask that anyone who witnessed the crash or who has any information to contact police online by clicking here, quoting incident number 240i of 5 February 2022.
"Alternatively, if you have information but don’t feel comfortable speaking to police, you can speak to the independent charity Crimestoppers. It is 100% anonymous, they never ask your name and they cannot trace your call or IP address. You can contact them online or by calling 0800 555 111."
