One of the stars of comedy classic Hi-de-Hi! will be visiting Herefordshire this week.
Ruth Madoc, who played the iconic Gladys Pugh in the BBC sitcom between 1980 and 1988 will be visiting the Conquest Theatre in Bromyard on Friday.
The volunteer-run charity is putting on six performances of the comedy from February 17 to 26 and Ms Madoc will be among the audiences.
The actress, who has since appeared in sitcoms Little Britain and Benidorm, will be taking part in sold-out afternoon tea and question and answer session before the show on Friday.
She said: "I'm looking forward to seeing what they do.
“I’ve seen one or two productions of it in the past 20 years, so it will be interesting to see what they do with it. I don't think I've ever been to Bromyard but I look forward to it.”
Margaret Dallow, who is directing the show at the theatre in Tenbury Road, said that everyone should see Hi-De-Hi! as it is, a charming, retro comedy which will bring nostalgia to those who grew up watching the show.
During the making of the production, Mrs Dallow ensured that everyone had a role and brought new people into the theatre to learn something both on and off stage.
She said: “It is very much a team effort with cast and crew between 18 and 80 – Bromyard at its best."
