A HEREFORDSHIRE school is set to reunite after nearly 50 years.
Weobley school is calling all ex-pupils who left Weobley School between 1958 and 1962 to attend a reunion on Saturday May 7.
The evening will see old friends embrace, talk of memories, teachers over the years and a buffet.
Brian Bedford, who is organising the reunion, already remembers some of his old teachers’ names - Headmaster, Mr John H A Hawkins, Mrs Hawkins, Mrs Preece, Miss Excell, Mr Tom Peglar, Mr Jeffries, Mr Gordon Leech, Mr and Mrs Bailey, Miss Smith.
“Mr Hawkins was something else.
“He ruthless but a brilliant headmaster,” he said.
The old school mates planned to meet before, but the pandemic stood in their way.
Mr Bedford has kept in touch with some of his school friends that he see’s once a month but hopes this reunion will see most of his year group come back together.
He went to the school for three years then worked in Weobley for 10 years and likes to keep memories of the area alive.
If you are interested in attending contact Mr Bedford (budgie) on 01432 820004, 07974 069430 or s.bedford45@btinternet.com for more information.
