LORRY drivers from Herefordshire are pulling together to transport essentials to Ukraine in the wake of Russia’s invasion.
Andrew Lloyd, of Kington, has joined forces with his friends to organise lorries with drivers at the ready to deliver items such as medicine, sanitary towels, blankets, and nappies to the Ukraine border.
Removal and delivery firms have volunteered their lorries and drivers.
The Home Office are also supporting the group by organising free passage through the Channel Tunnel, with their first trip planned for next week.

But they need funding for fuel, tolls, and vehicle expenses, so Mr Lloyd has set up a Just Giving page to raise donations as well as call out for more drivers and vehicles.
“Donations are piling high thanks to the generosity of the British public, however the means of getting these donations to where they are needed is lacking,” said Mr Lloyd.
“We need your kind donations to ensure drivers can keep driving and we can add to the fleet as more people become aware of our efforts.”
So far they have raised £390 towards their target of £20, 000.
