A HEREFORDSHIRE man has been locked up after urinating in a police van and attacking police officers.
Mathew James Lothian was found guilty by magistrates in Newport.
The court heard the 38-year-old had caused damage by urinating inside the cage of a police van belonging to Gwent Police on December 26 in Newport.
He had also assaulted a police constable acting in the course of their duties in Newport by beating on the same date.

He was further found guilty of assaulting a police officer acting in the course of their duties at Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran by beating on December 4.
Magistrates said the offences were serious and that no community sentence would be suitable, and Lothian, of Pontrilas, Herefordshire, was jailed for a total of 12 weeks. He must also pay a £128 victim surcharge.
