- ROLLING MATCH REPORT
- Looking for a win to boost their play-off credentials Hereford started well and Tom Owen-Evans found Ryan McLean who from a narrow angle saw his effort saved.
- Hereford were ahead on seven minutes when McLean capitalised on a defensive error as Michael Liddle saw his back-pass intercepted and the Bulls forward rounded the goalkeeper to put the ball into an empty net.
- Blyth could have been level three minutes later as Lewis McNall beat the off-side trap before seeing his effort denied by emergency loanee Ollie Battersby.
- Hereford doubled their lead on 16 minutes when Harry Pinchard sent an inch-perfect ball to Seb Revan on the other wing. He crossed onto the boot of Tom Owen-Evans who flicked the ball home.
- McLean had the chance to net a third goal on 19 minutes when Mo Touray beat his marker before finding the run of the forward whose effort was saved.
- Luke Haines was next to try his luck at goal but saw his well-hit volley fly over the crossbar.
- The third goal came on 30 minutes with Owen-Evans seeing his shot from outside the box take a deflection which looped the ball over the goalkeeper.
- Three minutes before the break Hereford should have had a fourth when Owen-Evans challenged the goalkeeper to a through ball.
- The deflection fell to Keenan Patten who saw his weak effort blocked.
- However, it was Blyth who responded with Lewis McNall beating defender Krystian Pearce to a header before firing across goal and into the bottom corner.
- After the break Blyth looked for a route back into the match and JJ O'Donnell who worked his way into the box before forcing a save from a tight angle.
- However, it was Hereford who restored their three-goal advantage when goalkeeper Alex Mitchell kicked straight to Harry Pinchard who took a touch before curling his effort home.
- Blyth almost had a second goal in controversial circumstances on 73 minutes as Haines looked to have been fouled allowing McNall in on goal, but the striker fired into the side-netting.
- Battersby was forced into action again on nine minutes after McNall ghosted into the box before seeing his effort stopped by the goalkeeper's feet.
