A GRAND countryside home in Herefordshire is for sale, and it has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and its own pond.
For sale with a guide price of £1.375 million, agents Knight Frank say on Zoopla that the home, near Ledbury, is in an idyllic setting at the end of a no-through road.
Called Lower Court, the grade-II listed former farmhouse overlooks the church and has beautiful gardens and grounds which extend to just over an acre, agents say.
The house itself, which is in Putley, is believed to date from the 16th century and was extended and remodelled over the next 200 years to include a Georgian wing.
They say historically, this prominent house was the residence of the bailiffs for the Putley Court Estate.
Agents say the home, complete with five reception rooms and cellar, has been restored and refurbished adding a modern twist to create the "perfect fusion of period proportions and charm with contemporary style".
"Major works include a new, bespoke hand-built kitchen with five oven Aga, rewiring, new boiler and central heating system (including some underfloor heating), re-plumbing, upgrading of the roof and sash windows, installation of a Clearview wood burning stove in the drawing room, double-glazed windows and restored oak, elm and pine floorboards," they say.
"All four bathrooms and the downstairs toilet have been refurbished to a high specification.
"The attached brick barn has been converted to form a versatile cinema/games room, but could also be used as offices or ancillary accommodation.
"The beautifully landscaped gardens and grounds are principally laid to lawn with inset flower beds, shrubs and several specimen trees."
Other notable features, agent say, include two raised garden terraces, the duck pond with water lilies and fountain, and a lavender flanked pathway leading up to the front door.
There is also a gravel parking and turning area to the side of the house and a substantial brick built double garage with electric doors and a lean-to greenhouse.
More details can be found on Zoopla's website where the house is advertised by Knight Frank.
