A HEREFORDSHIRE youth group has raised more than £1,000 for Ukraine after taking on a series of sponsored challenges.
Young people from the Garway Youth Group have so far raised £1,405 for the Disasters and Emergency Committee Ukraine appeal.
The Garway Youth Group is a long-standing local charity, led by members of the churches in the area, and open to all young people living locally over primary school age, so they have a place to meet up with friends.

Collectively, the group members have read 765,154 words of Harry Potter, swum 62 km, and cycled a hilly 63km between the Garren Brook in St.Weonards and Garway Hill.
The activities were planned by the nine group members, ex-Garway School pupils Anna Bieler, Daisy Baldock, Daniel Herbert, David Casadesus-Hall, Freddie Franklin, Georgina Plant, Iona Bruce, Sophie Hill and Theo Gerrand.
Garway Youth group leader Alex Herbert said: "The group were really keen to do something positive to help the people of Ukraine. We’ve been overwhelmed by the support and generosity we’ve received from family, friends and the local community."
