A HEREFORDSHIRE thief has been banned from drinking alcohol after stealing clothes.
Joshua Maggs-Rimmer entered guilty pleas to magistrates in Preston.
The court heard the 20-year-old had stolen clothing worth a total of £310 from House of Fraser in Carlisle, Cumbria, on October 12.
He also stole two sandwiches worth £5.30 from Greggs in Carlisle on November 5, and assaulted a man by beating at Wigton on August 2.
Maggs-Rimmer, of Almeley, Herefordshire, was handed a 12-month community order with an electronically monitored 80-day alcohol abstinence requirement, and a 12-month restraining order.
He was also ordered to pay compensation of £50 to his victim, and costs of £80.
