A MAN died after taking part in a charity boxing night at a Worcester nightclub. 

The tragedy happened after the Ultra White Collar Boxing event in the city's Tramps nightclub on Saturday night (April 9).

Paramedics battled to save the man, who was suffering "serious injuries" at the scene.

Cancer Research UK, the charity the event was supporting, has offered its deepest condolences to the man's family. 

Simon Ledsham, fundraising director at Cancer Research UK, said: “We send our sincerest condolences to the family of the man who tragically died in hospital after taking part in an Ultra White Collar Boxing event on Saturday where participants fund-raised for Cancer Research UK. 

"Our thoughts are with the man’s loved ones and friends at this time.”

Paramedics attended Tramps nightclub

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 7.46pm to reports of an incident on Angel Place, Worcester.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a critical care car from the Air Ambulance Service and a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic attended the scene.

"Upon arrival, we found a man who had sustained serious injuries. He received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene.

Hereford Times:

"He was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital [Birmingham] for further assessment.”
