WHEN you think of quality handmade ice cream the name Just Rachel is one that always springs to mind.

Now known as Berry’s Luxury Ice Cream, although still trading as Just Rachel, the company is in the running for Best Dairy Producer at the Hereford Times Food and Farming Awards.

The awards, in association with the Royal Three Counties Show, takes place at the Three Counties Showground on Wednesday, June 15.

Owned by Frank and Fenella Kenyon-Slaney since 2020, the firm was the brainchild of Rachel Hicks, who in 1980 started producing ice creams made with 100 per cent cream and totally natural products.

Operating out of the Hop Pocket Craft Centre in Bishop’s Frome, Berry’s, who won the award last year, have managed to increase their business despite Covid still being around.

After the success of their damson and sloe gin ice cream last year, 2022 has seen Berry’s introduce their new gooseberry and elderflower flavour.
