EASTENDERS star Danny Dyer appears to have seen the funny side to a crude chant about Jarrod Bowen - the Premier League footballer from Herefordshire.

Bowen, who comes from Leominster and whose first senior game and goal was for Hereford United, has recently started a high-profile relationship with Dani Dyer - actor and presenter Danny's daughter.

And a new chant from West Ham United fans has focussed on the couple's relationship, with Dani previously sparking engagement rumours.

OTHER NEWS:

The chant, based on the 1990s classic Freed From Desire, is about their star forward and his new partner, with Bowen netting in both legs of the Europa League quarter-final against Lyon.

Bowen's goal saw West Ham take the lead in the first leg, but the London side ended up drawing 1-1.

But a stunning second leg in France saw the Hammers beat Lyon 3-0 as goals from Craig Dawson, Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen secured a 4-1 aggregate triumph and a semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt.

West Ham's crude chant about the winger, heard at the games, goes: "Bowen’s on fire and he's sha***ng Dani Dyer."

But dad Danny doesn't seem to have too much of an issue about it.

Sharing a photo of Jarrod celebrating a Europe league goal, Danny said: "@jarrodbowen is on fire….and he’s….cuddling me daughter or something. So proud.

"What a f***ing night. Love to all the West Ham family."

Daughter Dani, a TV personality and actress who won Love Island in 2018, replied to the post, commenting "Ffs" with four laughing emojis.

Bowen replied with "Hahahahahaaha" and four laughing emojis.

Bowen grew up in Shobdon, near Leominster, and after unsuccessful trials at Aston Villa and Cardiff City, he started his career as a scholar at Hereford United.

OTHER NEWS:

At the age of 17, Bowen broke into the Hereford United first team after impressing for the youth team that season, making his debut in a 2–0 loss against Barnet in March 2014.

He scored his first career goal in April 2014 in Hereford's 3–2 home victory over Alfreton Town.

After Hereford were expelled from the Football Conference in June 2014, Bowen signed for Premier League club Hull City in July before he joined West Ham United on a permanent transfer.

The Premier League club paid an initial £18 million for the forward, with up to seven million pounds in potential add-ons.
