A BUSY HEREFORD road is partially closed this week due to roadworks.
Breinton Road has been closed off to traffic in both directions between the junctions with Ryelands Street and Broomy Hill causing delays in a busy part of the city, and diversions have been put in place.
Traffic is building up this morning around neighbouring roads through the diversion including Ryelands Street, Barton Road and Whitecross Road.
The closure is part of Balfour Beatty's road resurfacing programme for 2022 and will run between 9.30am and 3.30pm from today until Saturday, April 23.
Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, consider the closure of the road is required due to the likelihood of danger to highway users while the said works are
being carried out.
When making the decision on works in January 2022, the council said that localised disruption on highway network would be mitigated using diversion route signage and that the closure period would be kept to it's shortest possible duration.
