A WOMAN has been treated by paramedics after reports of a stabbing in Hereford, West Midlands Ambulance Service says.
West Mercia Police said that it was called to reports of a robbery and assault in the Hampton Bishop area of Hereford at around 8pm on Tuesday.
Now, the ambulance service has said it was called to reports of a stabbing, with a heavy police presence reported in the Braemar Gardens area, off Hampton Park Road.
When asked about the incident, an ambulance service spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.08pm to reports of a stabbing in Braemar Gardens, Hampton Park.
"One ambulance, a paramedic officer and a Mercia Accident Rescue Service (MARS) trauma doctor attended the scene. Crews treated a woman for injuries not believed to be life-threatening and she was conveyed to hospital on blue lights and sirens.”

Police said the woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, and the Hereford Times understands officers are still in the area this morning.
A spokesperson said officers carried out a thorough search of the local area, with support from the National Police Air Service helicopter, but have not yet confirmed if any arrests were made.

Inspector Dan Pilkington said late on Tuesday evening: “We understand that a heavy police presence can be alarming, but would like to reassure residents that we believe this to be a contained incident with no threat to the wider community.
“Enquiries are going, and in the meantime, there will continue to be a visible police presence in the area to provide reassurance.”
West Mercia Police has been asked to provide an update.
