FIREFIGHTERS have been called to a building fire in Herefordshire overnight.
A fire service spokesperson said Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Leominster, Kingsland and Hereford plus the water carrier from Leominster were called at 1.39 am on April 21 to an agricultural building fire in Wharton near Leominster.
The fire involved woodchip feeding a biomass burner in a building measuring 30m by 30m.
The blaze was put out using two hosereel jets and two mainline covering jets using water supplied from the water carrier.
One firefighter used breathing apparatus and small tools and a reciprocating saw were also used.
There were no casualties and no other emergency services were required. The incident was marked as pending closure at 6.35 but a reinspection is booked in for 11.00am.
