A REPEAT offender has been jailed after a string of offences including carrying a smashed glass bottle in a Hereford street.
Josh Newbury entered guilty pleas when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford.
The court heard the 29-year-old had assaulted another person by beating in Hereford on February 8, had failed to comply with a community protection notice on March 9 by being drunk and swearing and waving his arms around, causing alarm to members of the public in Hereford.
He had also been drunk and disorderly in Ross-on-Wye's Market Place on March 28, and failed to comply with a community protection notice in Hereford on March 29 by swearing and shouting, causing others harassment, alarm, and distress.

He further failed to comply with a community protection notice in Hereford on April 18, smashing the base off a glass bottle and holding the remains by the neck while shouting and swearing in the street, caused criminal damage by intentionally damaging a sign belonging to Gordon Bennetts, and had been drunk and disorderly in Commercial Road.
Magistrates said the offences were serious as they included an unprovoked attack, as Newbury has a flagrant disregard for court orders, and due to his previous convictions.
Newbury, of no fixed address, was jailed for four weeks.
