A HEREFORD thief has been locked up after stealing wine from city shops.
Luke Berry entered guilty pleas to magistrates in Hereford.
The court heard the 28-year-old had stolen two bottles of red wine, one worth £12 and one of an unknown value, from Hereford's Marks and Spencer supermarket on May 3.
He had also stolen a bottle of wine, worth £4.99 from Savers in Hereford on April 30.
Magistrates said the offences were serious as Berry has consistently breached court orders, and were aggravated by his record and persistent thieving.
Berry, who is of no fixed address, was jailed for a total of 14 weeks and must pay compensation of £12 to Marks and Spencer and £4.99 to Savers.
