ENGLAND legend Alan Shearer has tipped Herefordshire footballer Jarrod Bowen for a place in the national team.
Bowen, from Shobdon, scored both goals for West Ham as they held Premiership leaders Manchester City to a 2-2 draw on Saturday.
England have four international matches next month in the Nations League and Shearer has tipped Bowen for a place in the England side.
OTHER NEWS:
Speaking on Match of the Day 2, former England striker Alan Shearer said: "He has to have played himself into the England squad this summer considering the lack of form of other players in that position.
Talking about Bowen's first goal Shearer said:"He gave (Oleksandr) Zinchenko a torrid time, it was a very well timed run and that was an excellent finish."
Adding about Bowen's second goal, Shearer added: "Watch his movement, watch his run, the timing of his run again and another clever finish."
The draw means West Ham go into the final game just two points behind Manchester United in sixth and the final Europa League place.
"It shows the level of this club," said Bowen.
"We don't want to be one season finishing in Europe and the next in mid-table we want to be consistently finishing in these European places and we've still got sixth to play for."
