HEREFORDSHIRE'S young farmers are promising their annual rally and dance will be "back with a bang" this year.
Herefordshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs are holding their first full rally since the Covid pandemic hit this weekend in the Golden Valley village of Dorstone.
While the clubs held a smaller scale rally last year, they have promised to be "coming back with a bang with a full day of competitions, socialising and fun" on Saturday (May 21).
The overall theme of the rally is a combination of ancient Egypt and space, with a range of competitions across the day from the main exhibit, cookery and floral art to space hopper racing, pantomine camel races and sheep shearing.
Gates open to the public at Dorstone Court at 9am, with the dance from 9pm until 2am.
A spokesperson said: "It is the perfect day out for all the family, there will be catering on site and things to see and do all day.
"Members from across the county have been working hard for the past few weeks to prepare for the day, we held our pre-rally on April 30 where some of the competitions took place, the cube exhibit, farm skills and our club rally signs were dotted around the county.
"Rally day exhibits what young farmers is all about and so is the perfect opportunity to come along.
"We are grateful for all the support the federation receives to be able to put this day on from our sponsors, to our members and the loyal ex-members."
