A HEREFORD gym has been forced to close early as it suffers "severe" staff shortages due to "Covid-related illness."
thePoint4, a leisure facility with a gym, personal trainers, fitness classes, Astro pitch and a sports hall, said it was left with no option but to close at 5pm on Monday, four-and-a-half hours early.
The centre, in Venns Lane, said it was due to "unforeseen circumstances and severe staff shortages due to Covid-related illness".

It left bosses with "no other option but to forcibly close early today at 5pm".
"This will mean that all exercise classes and bookings tonight will be cancelled," thePoint4 said.
"We will endeavour to contact all relevant persons to make them aware.
"We apologise for any inconveniences caused, and fully intend to remain open as usual for the remainder of the week and going forward.
"Thank you for your continued patience and support."

Due to the closure of the centre, part of the Royal National College for the Blind, the Herefordshire Football Association said it won't be running its walking football session at 7pm.
Bookings will be back to normal for Wednesday, it said.
