Our regular series of profiles of local schools continues with Leominster Primary School. Here, the school's leadership team, says celebrating children's successes is a priority
Leominster Primary School is a larger than average, vibrant primary school in Herefordshire.
We opened in September 2014 as the amalgamation of the predecessor junior and infant schools.
Since then, we have strived to continue to provide an exciting, stimulating, safe and enriched learning environment for all of our children.
We are a three-form entry school and provide morning and afternoon nursery classes. We also offer a breakfast club from 7:45am and wrap around care until 5:30pm.

As well as this, we offer a range of exciting after school clubs catering for all year groups, including martial arts, dance and cooking.
We pride ourselves in attending a variety of sports fixtures and competitions and ensure that we provide access for all.
We also offer many wider curricular opportunities and plan in several topic and experience days for all year groups.
A few examples of these include a Victorian day in Year 1, a farm day in Year 2 and an Egyptian day in Year 4.
We strive to provide our pupils with experiences out of school. Recently, a large number of our pupils attended the Herefordshire Festival and represented our school by taking part in poetry readings, choir and playing musical instruments.
We also enjoy celebrating subject weeks in school and recently celebrated British Science week. We are extremely proud of all of our talented pupils and make it a priority to celebrate their achievements.
Our pupils are always at the centre of our school and their opinions, thoughts and feelings are highly respected and are implemented into our daily school life.
Pupils from all year groups are members of our school council and make valued contributions to the improvement and development of our school.
We also have an Eco club who work on many exciting projects to ensure we are all trying our best to be environmentally friendly.
Children at our school say:
"I enjoy all of our topics; did you know Africa is shaped like an elephant’s ear?"
"I loved learning about Henry VIII and how he beheaded some of his wives!"
"It’s great trying to beat my target on accelerated reader!"
Parents at our school say:
"The school is modern, social and a lovely place for children to learn!"
"It is very child friendly here, our son loves it!"
"We can see so much progress in the short time that our daughter has been here!"
