- The Birmingham 2022 Queen's Baton Relay is visiting Hereford this afternoon during its final journey through England this summer.
- Birmingham is hosting the 16th official Queen's Baton Relay. This is a journey that brings together and celebrates communities across the Commonwealth during the build up to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
- The Relay began on 7 October 2021, with The Queen placing her Message to the Commonwealth into the Baton.
- It started on its journey through England yesterday starting at the Eden Project in Cornwall, making its way through Devon, and Dorset.
- It visited Devizes, Bath and Bristol this morning before making its way to Hereford for this afternoon’s event.
- People taking part as Batonbearers in Hereford include: Ashley Winter, extreme spots charity fundraiser and former soldier; Cameron Wood, youth leadership and disability rights campaigner; Josie Pearson MBE, Paralympian; Michael Chandler, charity fundraiser and Hereford postman.
