A POPULAR fish and chip shop has decided to close for a day next week due to the predicted heatwave.
The Fish House, in Moreton-on-Lugg, near Hereford, will close for the day on Tuesday, July 19, due to the surge in temperatures.
Owner Zac Zachariou said on the shop's Facebook page: ’After much consideration and with a severe weather warning, I have decided that we shall be closed on Monday (as usual) and on Tuesday next week.
"As you’re well aware this is a shop ran by myself, my pregnant fiancée and a very small amount of staff.

"I hope you all understand, but some things are a lot more important that money.
Mr Zachariou went on to say that the shop, on the site of the Old School House, will be open as normal today, tomorrow, and from Wednesday onwards.
