A HEREFORDSHIRE pub shared an "important" announcement that it would be making temporary changes as the county experiences a heatwave.
The Oak Inn, in Staplow, near Ledbury, said it has taken measures to ensure its staff are safe and rested during the extreme temperatures yesterday (July 17), today (July 18) and tomorrow (July 19).
The pub kept it to a selection of quiches, salads, pizzas, and lighter dishes for Sunday lunch to minimise the number of Sunday roasts.
It also reduced the number of covers and spaced-out bookings so that the kitchen capacity will come first over the table capacity, said a spokesperson.

The restaurant also closed last night and only served drinks all evening.
The team also took all hot items off the menu, so they did not have to use the over for both lunch and dinner today and tomorrow.
Meanwhile, a Herefordshire café will temporarily close as temperatures across the county remain high.
Emma's Farmhouse café, in Bromyard, said due to the extreme weather it has made the decision to close tomorrow (July 19).
"We have to keep in mind the welfare of our kitchen staff and with temperatures likely to reach 50 plus degrees in there it's not a safe working environment," said a spokesperson.

A café in Leominster announced it is closing early today (July 18) due to the heat.
A spokesperson from Central Bakery said: "We are closing early today and tomorrow due to the hot weather.
"Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but we need to look after our staff."
The Swan Hotel, in Kington, said due to the extreme heat it has made the decision to close its kitchen on today to protect its staff.

"The heat from the oven, grill, fryers and hot pass on top of the heat outside will make our kitchen unbearable to work in and we need to put our staff's health first," said a spokesperson.
"Apologies for the inconvenience this may cause, and we hope you respect our last-minute decision."
But the pub will be open as normal serving super chilled refreshments all day.
