MCDONALD’S has resubmitted a planning application for a new drive-thru in a Herefordshire town after the last received more than 200 objections.
The fast food chain previously put in a planning application to Herefordshire Council for a new restaurant to stand on the roundabout where the A40 meets the A449 to the northeast of the town.
The proposed entrance would have been through a residential housing estate off the main road.
But the company withdrew plans after it received 221 objections and 97 submissions of support locally, with National Highways and Ross-on-Wye Town Council also raising concerns.

Ross-on-Wye Town Council previously objected, citing concerns over design, signage, walking and cycling, impact on views and on employment in the town centre.
National Highways, which manages both trunk roads, recommended in March that permission not be granted “for a period of three months pending submission of further information”, citing concerns over pedestrian and cycle access, and “geotechnical impacts” from the planned sewer.
While residents of St Mary's Garden Village raised multiple concerns over how the entrance would affect their day to day lives and even the children living in the area.
Now it has developed its plans after taking into consideration previous objections, in the hope this one will be approved.

A McDonald's spokesperson: "Following feedback from the community, stakeholders, and council officers, we have amended and re-submitted our plans to positively respond to the comments received.
"We are committed to listening and responding to local feedback throughout the planning process to ensure the creation of a well-integrated scheme.

"If approved, the scheme will generate several benefits for the local area including creating more than 100 full and part-time roles.
"The new Drive-Thru restaurant will be run by a local franchisee and the restaurant will play an active role supporting the community through regular litter picks and local partnerships."
Comments can be submitted for the application P222314/F until Thursday, August 18.
The target date for a decision from planners for the application is Wednesday, September 7.
