A FIRE station has thanked the public and fire officers from across the county after a fire on the outskirts of a Herefordshire town.
Firefighters from Ross-on-Wye fire station, alongside officers from West Mercia Police were called to a fire in the open at the bottom of Tank meadow on Friday July 29.
It was the third fire in Ross-on-Wye last week which police suspect as arson, with incidents centred around the skatepark in Wilton Road.
A bin and a memorial bench had also been set alight at the skatepark, with police saying youths were seen running away from the scene.

A statement on the fire station's facebook page said that two appliances from Ross-on-Wye were joined at 8.45pm on Friday evening (July 29) by one appliance from Whitchurch and a water carrier from Peterchurch.
It said that crews stayed in attendance throughout the night and into Saturday, with support from Fownhope and Ledbury fire stations, before finally leaving the incident at 6pm on Saturday (July 30.)
A spokesperson from Ross-on-Wye Fire Station said: "Thank you to all the crews that worked hard at the incident and thank you to the local residents of Penyard lane as there was a lot of movement and disturbance during this time."
