A NEW venue set to open in Hereford is making safety a priority and wants everyone to enjoy the space.
Jam Factory will open where the Exchange once stood in Widemarsh Street, with plans to host live music, serve handcrafted drinks and Mexican street food.
Its owner Jordan Read, 27, and manager Marcin Zachara, 41, said people of all ages, backgrounds and ethnicities are welcome.
"It is not only for young people, but for those in their 40s, 50s and older," said Mr Zachara.
They especially want it to be a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community in Herefordshire.

The team’s plan is to host events specially for them.
Plans are also in place for industry nights so staff working in hospitality around the city can get discount after a busy weekend.
“We want everyone to enjoy the space,” said the pair.
They even welcome ideas from people wanting to enjoy the space so they can make the scene even better.
Mr Read came back from living in Brighton during the pandemic and noticed the Hereford night-time scene needed a change.
There currently isn’t enough opportunity for local musicians to put on gigs, he said.
Mr Read is in a band himself called Jake of Diamonds and Mr Zachara has a great love for music.

The pair believe their knowledge and passion will allow Jam Factory to be the place Hereford has been missing.
“Hereford is ready for this,” said Mr Read.
“The nightlife is currently limited.”
Their priority will first be to host Herefordshire’s talent but later plan to invite artists from further afield.
There are more surprises and special elements to be announced when the venue opens.
