A YOUNG woman in Hereford is working to use burlesque to promote equality for the LGBTQIA+ in Herefordshire.
Lindsay McGlone, of Hereford, is a burlesque dancer, producer, and award-winning activist, who is putting on a burlesque and cabaret show at The Richmond Club with some of the best artistes in the UK.
The acts have all been hand selected by the 24-year-old, including headliner Cleopantha who is among the world’s top burlesque dancers.
She is also flying in Dotti Moscati from Berlin just to perform in Hereford.

The event is also offering a free talk with Lou Safire, who was born and grew up in Hereford and is now internationally recognised for their performances.
Although Reclaimed is not solely for queer people, it is queer owned.
“I think it's important to actively support queer run events in Hereford as creating a safe environment where everyone is accepted and welcomed is absolutely essential,” said Ms McGlone.
“Those who came last time said that they had never felt so at 'home', and couples also told us how they'd held hands publicly for the first time.”

Reclaimed is such an important and emotive night to Ms McGlone personally, as she can show Hereford how burlesque and cabaret is brilliantly entertaining.
Reclaimed is also donating the raffle money to RALLY training, which offers gender identity training to Hereford businesses and others who need it alongside offering safe spaces for the trans and queer community.
Reclaimed is honoured to be able to be a tiny part of that.
The show has also received some funding from Rock The Barn festival which has enabled it to do a raffle.
The event will take place on August 20 at 6.30pm, and tickets can be found here.
