HAVE pirates descended on Hereford?
Falling river levels have revealed one of the secrets of the river Wye in Hereford.
The sunken Wye Princess is invisible for much of the year, disappearing below the water as river levels rise.
Incredibly it has survived huge floods in recent years, remaining moored near the Old Bridge in Hereford.
Pictures from 2014 show the now-forlorn looking boat in happier times, still afloat, brightly painted, and covered over.
But, by 2015, the small motorboat was looking considerably less loved.
It has not been forgotten, however, and as river levels have fallen this summer, a Jolly Roger flag has appeared on the boat ahead of this year's pirate-themed Wye Float event, as pictured by Hereford Times Camera Club member Belinda Olsen.
This year's event is due to take place tomorrow (August 13), with floats setting off from Hereford's Rowing Club and heading some 1.9 miles downriver.
