A FAIRY garden in a Herefordshire wood has been branded ‘untidy’ by the local council.
Ledbury Town Council is embarking upon a programme of works at Dog Hill Wood in the autumn which will include removing the undergrowth, coppicing and hedge laying, as well as making way for community and volunteer groups to help maintain the wood going forwards.
They have called for the wood's fairy garden, created in 2019, to be better maintained.
The garden is a collection of miniature pieces of china or artwork that depict fairies.

A spokesperson for Ledbury Town Council said: "Whilst Ledbury Town Council has no objection to the fairy garden, it has been noticed that over the last few months, the area has become rather untidy and uncared for.
"We would therefore like to ask those people who have an interest in the fairy garden to ensure that it remains a pleasant area of the wood which can be enjoyed by all, and that if there are any unwanted items which may not be appropriate, that they are removed and disposed of appropriately.
"Of course, if you have any fairy related objects, then you are more than welcome to add them to the collection."
The council added that anyone who has any concerns or who wishes to help in helping maintain the woods, can contact the Deputy Clerk on 01531 632306 for further details.
