POLICE officers have been out today (Wednesday) reassuring the public in the areas where recent rape and sexual assault were reported to have taken place.
A spokesperson from South Wye police station said PCSO Carol Marsh and PCSO Hayley Warne were patrolling Bishops Meadow, Victoria Bridge, the river paths, and the Lines.

They were met by several members of the public and interacted with them at various times of the day, said the spokesperson.
This comes after Chief Inspector Ross Jones said more patrols of high visibility officers and plain clothed officers in these areas after the four recent reports of two rapes and a sexual assault, as well as one flashing incident.
But they have arrested two people on suspicion of rape and flashing.
