- HEREFORDSHIRE is officially in a state of drought after the heatwave and low rainfall, says the Environment Agency.
- Despite recent rainfall, the dry weather has led to low river flows and reservoir levels falling across the river Severn catchment, as well as much of the West Midlands, including Herefordshire.
- Higher than average temperatures throughout the summer, and the recent heatwave, have added additional pressures on the water environment and wildlife.
