McDonald’s revived plans for a new restaurant in Herefordshire could lead to a home “from hell”, says one woman who could be living next door.
The new restaurant would be located to the east of the A40, adjacent to the Over Ross Roundabout with the A449, to the north of Ross-on-Wye.
The new application was submitted on July 28 and so far, the planning application has 11 objections, which is far less than the 221 it received on the last.
It also has 29 submissions of support, the previous application had 97.

People living in the neighbouring housing estate St Mary’s Garden Village submitted objections to the previous application over concerns the entrance would cause issues of noise, traffic, pollution, and safety issues.
Lyndsay Pettit-Bourillon lives in the housing estate and is objecting to the plan once again.
“The new plans show little improvement, a bigger site does not alleviate the issues of a ton of traffic coming in and out of the entrance to the estate, which is a stone’s throw away from my front door,” she said.
She worries for building traffic at the roundabout leading to the housing estate and the proposed entrance of the McDonald’s.
“Not to mention the noise, litter and smells from the pumping station which will be located less than 50 yards from my front door,” she said.

She also thinks the restaurant will not be promoting healthy eating or considering the huge impact this will have on our community.
“Our home will be one from hell and I will not feel safe living here if this happens.
“The whole point of this housing development was to provide a safe community for families, which will ultimately be completely destroyed if this is allowed to go ahead.”
Herefordshire Council planning team has said due to the volume of comments being received it will not be publishing any further representations on this application until after the consultation end date.
The council currently has a further 420 comments to publish.
