HEREFORD River Carnival, which calls itself the city's largest, free community event, has returned with a bang this weekend.
This year's event was the first full-scale carnival since 2018 and the Castle Green, Bishops Meadow and all along the riverbank came to life with colour and sounds to create an amazing spectacle.
The theme for this year’s event, held on Friday and Saturday, was water, and organisers said they were bringing the focus of the event back to the river Wye, so there were more floats, boats and watery fun than ever.
On Friday night, the event was launched at dusk with spectacular live performances along and on the river.
Saturday was carnival day and was themed "a day at the seaside".
The legendary street carnival made its way through Hereford city centre and took everyone to the river to watch the river procession.
Alongside the well-loved highlights of the event, including a fun fair, indie food village, dance area and music stages, there were also new areas and activities across the site.
