AN ACCUSED car thief has been sent for trial after denying several charges.
Gareth Edward Carpenter entered not guilty pleas to one count of theft of a motor vehicle and four counts of fraud by false representation when he appeared before South East Wiltshire Magistrates Court.
The court heard the 43-year-old and two others are accused of stealing a Ford Focus in Cheltenham on September 16.

He is also accused of fraudulently using the car owner's bank card to make a gain of £10 for himself at The Spur Station in Ross-on-Wye, a gain of £2.75 at the One Stop Shop in Cheltenham, a gain of £18.55 at the Shell Garage in Cheltenham, and a gain of £35.25 at Tesco Express in Cardiff on the same date.
Carpenter, of Milner Street, Preston, was sent for trial and will appear before Cheltenham magistrates for a case management hearing on September 1.
