ON July 29, I reviewed a wonderful evening concert at the Three Choirs Festival, but emerging from the north porch of Hereford Cathedral afterwards I tripped over a raised kerb onto the lawns, fell backwards, and damaged my left hand and wrist and right shoulder.
People rushed to help me, as they did to help a lady who had had a similar accident a few moments previously.
She and I cannot be the only people who have had a fall as a result of this unmarked hazard, and I must point out that most of the people exiting the cathedral were of a certain age.
OTHER LETTERS:
- 'Overzealous green agendas' in Hereford are wasting our money
- Herefordshire history must be celebrated after hoard find
- Unsightly Hereford needs better looking after
I am still in pain nearly three weeks later. I have been in touch with the cathedral authorities, but have yet to receive a reply.
My review has gone all round the world, though, mentioning my accident.
