Plans have been put forward to build 20 new houses on the edge of a north Herefordshire village.
The bid by West Midlands builder Piper Homes would create the development on the south side of Tenbury Road, Brimfield, onto which new road access would have to be created.
The 1.3-hectare field site is identified in the Brimfield and Little Hereford neighbourhood plan as a preferred location for new housing.
“This area is not prone to flooding and is considered to be still within walking distance to local facilities,” Piper Homes’ application says.
The two-storey homes would include three two-bedroom and two three-bedroom properties for affordable rent, as well as three three-bedroom houses for fixed-equity shared ownership.

While varying in design, they will be built “from a limited materials palette to ensure consistency of style throughout the site”, the application says, forming “a low-density informal rural layout around a new central area of public open space”.
