A HEREFORDSHIRE school has welcomed new year seven pupils ahead of term with zorbing, cake baking and more.
New year seven students for Bishop of Hereford’s Bluecoat School spent this week in a summer school of fun activities including zorbing, cake baking, rounders, relay races, dodge ball, archery tag and decorating their own mugs, amongst many other things.
A spokesperson from the school said it has invested in its summer school to make it free to all its new students for the best possible start to their secondary school education to form new friendships and familiarise themselves with the school.

“We have organised it as close as possible to the beginning of the autumn term so that they can all start on the first day with confidence, enthusiasm and meet some staff,” said the spokesperson.
Students have had a taster of some of the learning activities they may experience during lessons and extra-curricular sessions.
To their new students the school said: “Well done everybody, you made a great impression this week, we are really looking forward to welcoming you to Bishops on Wednesday next week.”
