A WORCESTER vicar has been named as the man to take over one of the most important jobs at Hereford Cathedral.
The Rev Canon Christopher Pullin will replace Canon Val Hamer as Canon Chancellor in September.
Canon Hamer made headlines in 2002 when she became the first woman to take a top job in the cathedral.
Canon Pullin is currently the vicar of St John-in- Bredwardine, a busy parish covering the west of Worcester.
He is also an honorary canon of Worcester Cathedral, the rural dean of Martley and Worcester West and chaplain to the Royal British Legion.
His installation will take place at 3.30pm on September 14, which gives his younger children the chance to finish the current academic year at their present schools.
