THE exact date when Hereford’s Christmas light switch-on will take place has been revealed, with live music returning to High Town.
On the evening of Sunday, November 20, the switch on will take place with a live show in High Town – but the acts are yet to be announced.
In previous years, S Club 7’s Bradley McIntosh and Jo O’Meara and noughties popstar Chico have entertained crowds in the packed city centre.
It comes as Hereford City Council has just signed a contract for new Christmas lights with Festive Lighting.

The lights will brighten the city this coming winter and will be of a new design with changing colours, and the plans have been coordinated in partnership with the owners of the Old Market Shopping Centre and Maylord Orchards.
This means Hereford will receive a unified theme across the whole centre of the city.
The contract takes advantage of savings from using low energy technology and will be more cost-effective than previous iterations, resulting in no increase to the cost of the Christmas Lights.
“We hope to see you there for a spectacular show which we hope will kick-off the Christmas period in style. Further details will be announced later in the year,” said a spokesperson from Hereford City Council.
