I AM a young woman who starts college in September and I used to feel safe in Hereford.
I could walk down the road on my own without thinking about it.
It’s all changed. Hereford is no longer safe for a woman of any age to walk down the road without the fear and anxiety of being raped, sexually assaulted or murdered.

We are losing our independence to leave the house to go to the club and walk home.
I fear that every time I go into Hereford something will happen, so I don’t go shopping on my own anymore.

If my friends can’t join me, I don’t go. Hereford needs more lighting on footpaths and more CCTV in high-crime areas.
No one should feel that where they live isn’t safe, especially our little city.
